Supporting a Thriving Workforce

A healthy workforce leads to healthy patients.

Personal, professional, and environmental factors all impact physician well-being and performance, as priorities and resource constraints influence how doctors provide care.

The Health Equity and Retention in Obstetrics and Gynecology (HERO) project explores how healthcare environments and policy contexts shape the experiences, engagement, and retention of OBGYNs across diverse regions and health systems in the United States. By bringing together individual and organizational perspectives, HERO aims to better understand these dynamics and generate actionable, systems-level insight.

Our goal is to inform scalable, evidence-based approaches that support and sustain the OBGYN workforce and advance equity in reproductive healthcare.

Across the country, HERO Consortium partners represent a wide range of clinical settings, communities, and policy contexts, shaping a comprehensive view of the OBGYN workforce.
