Abigail Ford Winkel, MD, MPHE

Dr. Abigail Ford Winkel is a Professor and Vice Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Director of Faculty Development and Mentoring at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She earned her BA in English from Yale University and her MD and OBGYN residency from the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University. Dr. Winkel holds a Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) from the NYU–Maastricht University program, where she serves as Assistant Director, and practices obstetrics. She has lead several national educational initiatives and published widely on on physician well-being, professional identity formation, and workforce development. Dr. Winkel, a native New Yorker, lives in the West Village with her husband and two daughters.

Helen Kang Morgan, MD

Co-Principal Investigator

Dr. Helen Kang Morgan is Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Learning Health Sciences at the University of Michigan. She was born and raised in Ann Arbor Michigan and briefly left to attend Wellesley College for her undergraduate years and returned for medical school and Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Michigan. She serves as the Associate Chair of Faculty Development and Faculty Life for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the Faculty Chair-Elect for Women’s Careers for Michigan Medicine. Her scholarly work has focused on the transition to residency, faculty development, and diversity, equity and inclusion, and she has over 100 peer-reviewed publications. She lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and two daughters.

Elena Frank, PhD

Co-Investigator

Dr. Elena Frank is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Michigan Neuroscience Institute and Director of the Intern Health Study at the University of Michigan. Dr. Frank received her BA in Psychology and Gender and Sexuality Studies from New York University and MA and PhD in Gender Studies from Arizona State University. Dr. Frank’s research focuses on gender disparities in well-being and retention among medical trainees and early career physicians, including work-family factors and experiences of sexual harassment. Her work has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, BMJ, and other leading journals, as well as covered in the New York Times, Harvard Business Review, and other media outlets.

Julia Rossi, MPH

Research Coordinator

Julia Rossi is the Research Coordinator for the HERO Project at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She received her Master of Public Health with a concentration in Sexuality, Sexual and Reproductive Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and her BS in Public Health and Political Science from Hunter College. She previously served as a Fellow at The New York Community Trust, where she supported New York City nonprofits in the areas of health, behavioral health, and gender equity. Her earlier work includes research and program development focused on maternal health equity and community health. Originally from Rochester, New York, she has lived in New York City for over a decade.

Hannah Park, MS

Data Scientist

Hannah Park is a Research Analyst at the Institute for Innovations in Medical Education (IIME) at NYU Langone Health. She earned her BS in Biological Sciences from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and an MS in Biostatistics from Columbia University. Ms. Park has served as a biostatistician, clinical data analyst, and data scientist with experience in psychiatric and neurologic genetic epidemiology studies, real-world outcomes research using health claims, EMR, and registry data, and physician prescribing behavior and workforce research, leveraging the AMA Physician Masterfile and large-scale Medicare data. Her work includes over 35 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as JAMA Cardiology, PNAS, and Molecular Psychiatry
